Privacy Policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Margin LLC collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Margin LLC ("Margin", "we", "us") provides AI systems and consulting services to independent consultants and small firms. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you visit this website, use the Margin Calculator™ tool, sign up for our newsletter, book a call, or work with us.
It applies to this website and our services. It does not apply to third-party websites or tools we link to or that you connect to your own work, which have their own privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
You give us directly. Your name, email address, phone number, company, practice details, and the answers and notes you type into the Margin Calculator™ tool or our booking and newsletter forms. If you become a client, we also collect the project information needed to deliver the work, such as engagement scope, invoices and correspondence.
Collected automatically. Basic technical information when you visit the site, such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed and time on page. This helps us understand which pages and tools are useful.
From other sources. Occasionally, information from a mutual contact, a referral, or a public professional profile you point us to.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to: respond to your requests and book calls; send the newsletter you asked for; calculate and show your Margin Calculator™ estimate; deliver consulting work and bill for it; provide support; keep our systems secure; and improve the site and our services.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising on other companies' platforms.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent (for example, newsletter signups and optional fields); performance of a contract (delivering work you hired us for); our legitimate interests (securing and improving our site, and replying to business enquiries); and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).
You can withdraw consent at any time — for the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in any email.
5. How we share information
We share information only in these situations: with service providers who help us operate (email delivery, scheduling, hosting, payments, analytics), under contracts that limit them to our instructions; with your advisers or the professionals you ask us to work with; with professional liability insurers, auditors and lawyers when reasonably necessary; and when required by law, subpoena or a similar legal process, or to protect our rights, property or safety.
We never share your information with AI model providers to train public models on your personal information. Where a client project uses AI tools, that is governed by the engagement terms and the confidentiality rules described in "How we handle your data".
6. Cookies and similar technology
This site uses essential cookies and similar storage that keep it working (for example, remembering your progress in the Margin Calculator™ tool). Where we use analytics or non-essential cookies, we ask for your consent first and you can decline without losing access to the site.
Your browser settings also let you block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may stop some features from working.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy: newsletter and enquiry records until you ask us to remove them or tell us to stop; client records for the length of the engagement plus the period required for taxes, accounting and legal claims; and technical logs in aggregate or for a short period.
When retention ends, we delete or anonymize the information.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may be able to: access the personal information we hold about you; ask for corrections; ask for deletion; ask for a portable copy; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and, where applicable, opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share personal information in those ways.
To exercise a right, contact us using the details below. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights, and you may appeal a decision we make.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards — access controls, encrypted connections, and limited access to client material — designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and we keep only the data we actually need.
10. Children
This site and our services are for adults in a business context. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. When we do, we revise the "Last updated" date above, and we will email you if a change is material and you have an active relationship with us.
